The Earth Bone Story

In The Beginning

Jerry Rowan had a vision of a band that played powerful original songs that would make the listener an instant fan. The first incarnation of Earth Bone did not last as he had hoped. Still undaunted and eager to get the music out to the people he started to do solo shows. Soon he was joined by his friend and conga player Wayne Angel. The two played at various venues across Northern Arkansas for a while. After a few months, Jerry's partner Susan Boone would join in with them on some shows. Soon she left her band Mystic Blues to sing with Earth Bone full time. In 2015 at a memorial for another musician, drummer Jimmy Reynolds introduced himself and told the group that he would really like to sit in with them. After a couple of weeks, Jimmy was a full member of the band. The quartet played music in and around Arkansas and Missouri. In the late summer of 2016 the band added keyboardist (and Jerry's former Numa bandmate) David Doré to the line up. The band was ready to rock!

Full Steam Ahead

Earth Bone started to play more and more to packed venues.  Playing covers of classic rock, blues, and folk music they soon developed a following who called themselves "Boneheads". The music was rolling and the band was booked solid. Then an unfortunate turn of events happened and Jimmy had to leave to take care of family matters. Left without a main drummer the band decided to keep going. Using only the percussion of congas and djembe the band developed its unique signature sound that set it apart from all the other bands in the area. Soon they added another voice with Dave's sister Denise Doré. The band was complete - or so they thought! After 3 years with no full time drummer, an old buddy of Jerry and Dave's sat in with the group and magic was made that night. Donnie Lee was added to the roster and all was well with the world.

Earth Bone Today

Armed with an incredible voice, frontman and leader Jerry Rowan wows audiences with vocals and musicianship on the guitar. Susan Boone owns the stage when singing her selection of blues, ballads and rock classics or playing her harmonicas. Dave Doré ties it all together with his vocals, keyboard wizardry, guitar or banjo. Denise Doré gives a touch of whimsy to all of our songs with her vocals, and ukulele. Our newest member is drummer extraordinaire Donnie Lee (formerly of Pistol Whip). He keeps us on our toes when the music stops. Wayne Angel's conga and djembe riffs add a taste of the exotic to all of our songs.

Earth Bone's originals are written by Jerry, Dave, Susan and Denise and each song reflects a bit of what makes this group so exceptional.

As a duo, trio or full  band, Earth Bone delivers an audience friendly show on all levels!
